Why it is relevant to AI governance
OMB memoranda M-25-21 and M-25-22 currently set federal-agency AI use and AI acquisition policy. They apply to in-scope U.S. federal agencies, not as a general private-sector AI statute. M-25-21 replaces earlier M-24-10.
